Isn’t a good cup of coffee an instant mood-lifter? Now, combine that with a place that screams style and desserts that are, well, to die for. Sounds like a dream, right?<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, tucked away in Ozu Town is this little slice of paradise: the ‘offtoko cafe’. Those limited-time sweets? Irresistible. Couldn’t help but dive in!<\/span><\/p>\n

Chic Cafe in Ozu’s Residential District\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

‘Offtoko Cafe’ is located in Ozu Town’s Mori district, an area lined with numerous homes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A yellow bicycle paired with a yellow bench. The charming exterior is truly picture-perfect, isn’t it? I cannot help taking pictures! <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It’s a cafe that’s as cute as it is serious about its coffee. A stylish cafe that serves delicious brews is simply unbeatable.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Stepping inside, the decor is so enchanting that you’d half expect to see a fairy. The cute interiors and flowers just add to the charm.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A serene space, radiating a soft and relaxed ambiance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The name “offtoko cafe” means \u300eOFF\u3059\u308b TOKO-\u308d\u300f in Japanese. That is, “A place to switch off the hard work and relax.”\u3000It is a perfect fit. (In Japanese, the word “tokoro” means “place.\u201d )<\/span><\/p>\n

A Moment of Bliss with Delicious Egg Sandwiches & Coffee<\/b><\/h2>\n

What really stands out after the coffee is their egg sandwich.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can choose from soft whole wheat bread, bread, or butter croissant. They all look delicious. This time, I chose the soft whole wheat bread. I also ordered a cup of coffee.<\/span><\/p>\n

Soon after, the sound of beans roasting fills the air. It appears they roast them after you order. This sound is not only comforting but also heightens the anticipation for the coffee.<\/span><\/p>\n

And here they are!<\/span><\/p>\n

The distinct aroma of coffee wafts gently around, pure bliss. Freshly brewed coffee is, as you’d expect, absolutely delightful.<\/span><\/p>\n

And here is the egg sandwich. The savory bread is topped with a heaping portion of egg salad.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bread is very soft. It\u2019s actually a bit larger than I was expecting it to be.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bread is soft and slightly sweet, delicious on its own. Gradually, the generous egg salad starts to overflow \u2013 it’s quite the delightful mess!<\/span><\/p>\n

The One I’ve Been Waiting For! Don’t Miss the Limited-Time, Locally-Sourced Sweets!<\/b><\/h2>\n

What I was most interested in were the limited-time-only sweets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Look at this, it’s Karaimo Br\u00fbl\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n

This sweet treat is made with a whole, luxurious piece of Ozu town’s homegrown sweet potato.<\/span> (often called karaimo here in Kyushu).<\/span><\/p>\n

The handmade custard is nestled inside the sweet potato.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Look at this inside, such a generous amount of custard!<\/span><\/p>\n

The skin of the sweet potato is so thin that you can eat it without peeling it off. The inside is also sweet and exquisite. It is like a sweet by itself, but when combined with custard, the synergistic effect makes it an even more delicious and exquisite sweet.<\/span><\/p>\n

The crispy caramelized texture of the cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e is a delightful accent.<\/span><\/p>\n

It goes perfect with the whipped cream served on the side.<\/span><\/p>\n
